Default Headlights and Dash lights flickering

Hi Guys,
Has anyone had this fault? My WH's headlights and dash-lights are flickering even when my lights are switched off. Dealer suspects faulty light stalk but was wondering if anyone has had the same fault. Being an electrician myself I have tested the basics but without wiring diagrams and as the fault in intermittent its hard to find.

Yes, it's the light stalk.

You can't even buy the US version as it doesn't have the rear fog light setting on them, so you have to buy the export version which is probably $$$.

If you do buy it, let us know how much it cost you.

I have the same issue for more than a year and when it happens, I hit the stalk from the end (inwards towards the steering column) until it disappears and it goes like that for ages. So I've managed to live with it without forking any extra $$$.

The WH's have a flimsy stalk in comparison to the WG's.

HAHAHA, that's a frikken joke when RockAuto sell their version for under $60.

If you can't get it going by tapping it like I do, then I'd rather get the US version with A (for auto headlights) and fog lights for $60 and try to find the correct wire to connect it to the rear fog light or even wire them on a separate switch rather than getting scorched by their $1200 rip off price. Thieving b@stards.

Jenko, I think i have one on the shelf, bought it to replace mine as the rear fog part of the stalk failed, then i got rid of the rear fogs

Where are you in QLD? Want to put it in and try it out?
