Default Second battery

Hi everyone I’m thinking of fitting a second battery to my zj and I was wondering where would be a good place to put it I would like to fit where the air cleaner is but then what do I do for an air cleaner is there an air cleaner that fits on top of the 4 litre engin any ideas much appreciated

Not sure about the layout of the 4 litre ZJ. I had mine in the spare wheel compartment and had a relay switch set in between. This prevented that the Battery can only be charged from the alternator but it cannot draw power elsewise if there would be some demand.
I had the spare wheel on my rear bumper instead, did not fit in the compartment anyway.
The GC do not really have much space in the engine bay so i would rather look outside. And even if you put it there, you wont be able to get a big one i guess.

Thanks JoergM I thought about putting it in the rear compartment but I have a set draws too go in there so it’s a bit of a problem hopefully I can sort something out thanks again for the reply

Have you seen the "slimline" AGM batteries, Kings have a 120Ahr AGM that is only 110mm wide so it might fit between your draws and the side of the Jeep. 110 wide x 395mmlong x 285mm high 31kg AGM deep cycle for about 200 bucks on special today, but probably on special again soon . Dont know how good they are but all the stuff I have got off them has been good and much cheeper than anywhere else.
