Default Ordering MOPAR parts from the US - Part numbers?

Hi Everyone

Would appreciate some advice on MOPAR part numbers

I need to replace the Transfer Control Module on my WK2 Overland 3.0CRD

Stealership in AUS quoted $1218 plus $150 to fit (it's plug and play under the passenger seat)

MOPAR online stores in US are around USD200 plus $60 shipping.

The diag report from Jeep dealer says - Drive Train Control Module P/N 68395643AA needs replacing.

The actual P/N on my module under the seat is P56029423AJ

An Ebay search for either of those P/Ns brings up a number of different options but all with pictures of the same module.

So...... if I get the seller to do a VIN check and the P/N they are selling is compatible with my VIN am I OK

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Not sure about other US sellers but Moparamerica have a guarantee where if you supply the VIN at time of ordering they will ensure it is correct or will replace/refund.

I know this because I ordered colour coded door handles for my limited and made sure I used the VIN as I figured they would just send me US handles and low and behold I was correct. They ended up sending the right export ones for front doors and also refunded me the shipping to send the incorrect ones back

Try looking the part up on the MoparPartsGiant site as you can check the part numbers for correct fit against your VIN

Cheers

Looking at an online catalogue the 68395643AA number supercedes the 56029423AJ unit number, so should be okay, the AA or AC letters just denote versions every so often when they get too far they reissue a new number and go back to AA............some places won't be able to ID your VIN as its an export model... but I found listings on Mopargiant , Factory Chrysler and Mopar Wholesale....Not sure if the first 2 ship here but wholesale does...... My favourite shop, Rockauto has nil stock.

Agree with MoparAmerica as they have been good to me. Just ordered some injectors from there and they responded quickly to my questions. They also sent the part for about 1/3 what it would cost to get it from other "wheeler" sites.

Default Update!

Well, I took a punt and dropped by a local 4x4 wreckers. They had 3 WK's in stock, all of which had been gutted.

Checked under passenger seat of 1st one - cover was gone and so were the various 'black boxes'!

2nd one - cover had obviously been moved - no Transfer case control module either

Lucky last... passenger seat completely obstructing the cover (elec seat so couldn't move it!) Luckily someone had started to unbolt it so we pushed it up and BINGO!!... TCM still there and plugged in - checked part number.... same as mine!

Wreckers even let me plug it in to my WK to test before buying...All lights out and 4WD/traction control working normally $195 total.. and great service.
