Default WK2 Front air dam removal?

Am off to Fraser in May with a mate tagging along for a few days. He has a WK2 Laredo and it recommends removing the front air dam (think that was it). He will be going as far as central station before heading back home, is there really a need for him to remove this or can he leave it on?

Remove it, if it removes itself & damages the bumper he won't like the repair cost.

I saw a couple WK2s at Fraser a couple weeks ago, neither had their airdam removed. Probably the worst place for hitting the airdam will be washouts or sharp drops over dunes on the beach. Getting around the main inland tracks is pretty easy going.

I was following a brand new Hyundai Santa Fe for a bit, he made it from Kingfisher to Cromwells and up to just south of Indian Head.

Mines done Fraser twice ,terwah, bribie beach at least 5 or 6 times we have never taken it off. Has some scars on it & smashed up the useless plastic guard behind it. We have a nudge bar & a lift as well though.

I just got back from Fraser this arvo and the main Mackenzie, Central Station loop track was the best I have seen it.

I left my nose on and while it colleded some sand on other tracks it was fine.

Since I have had the truck lifted I have not taken to nose off and even then only did it once beforehand.

It provides a bit of protection from rouge sticks getting at the radiator.

Just take it easy and you will be fine.

Chief products is developing a couple of options for this. Personally I'd like something like this:
