That would explain the rigidity then...

I have mounted the lightbar using its own bracket. The two screws holding the number plate were useless - just screws into plastic.

I removed the screws then replaced them with a pair of stainless bolts, washers, mud washers and nylocs. To get to the back, I removed the recovery hook covers so I could get my arm in behind the bumper.

Most of the wiring is done, I just need to get to the high beam trigger, I suppose behind the passenger side light. Remove the airbox?

I may get a mate to make me up a new bracket that moves the lightbar further back and maybe a little higher.

Cheers

UPDATE

All wired in and working... The two white and green wires in the headlight cluster plug is confusing!

Hmmmm…. Not so "Simples" after all. The light bar is on when the headlights are in the "On" position, regardless of high or low beam. Bugga!

Back to the drawing board!

So, which wire is it I am supposed to tap in to as a trigger? I used the white/green closest to the end of the plug on the passenger side, and the lightbar is on if Acc or Ign are on.

I'm confused!

I checked with the multimeter. With the plug disconnected, I only seem to have 12 Volts on the pin when high beam is selected, but the relay closes and the bar turns on whenever Acc or Run is on and the plug is in. I don't understand!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me which wire to tap into??? PLEASE???

As far as I can tell, I am using the same wire as this guy:

Finally - all solved...

The problem was at the switch inside the car. It was getting accessories power instead of the feed from the high beam trigger.

Hooray!

Now, on Monday, hopefully I can bend the bracket and set the light further back and and bit higher so it does not stick out so far.

Cheers
