Default More lift for KJ CRD, OME kit + Extras - FINALLY INSTALLED !! NEW PICS!!

Finally got the laser cut Top Spacer Plates back from the cutters.

I'll probably just paint them black a few times, couldnt be bothered taking the time to get them powdercoated, too long.

I've got the TJ rear coil spacers to go in at the same time so the finished product should look pretty nice. Also getting some very long travel rear shocks with better valving, should fix the nosedive problem too.

I'll keep you posted for photos.

Riteo, got everything organised during the week.

2 x OME TJ rear packers
2 x PLASMA CUT Front Strut Top PLates (8mm)
2 x OME Rear Shocks (660mm ext 395comp, cant tell you from what 4x4 yet )
2 x 30mm Machined Alloy Spacers for the rear, being bolted onto the bottom coil spring seat via a 10mm bolt. I'll drill & tap the hole.

This should set my 06 CRD around 760-770 front & rear. I'm expecting 760mm permanently after settle.

I'm going to install all this tomorrow & get it wheel aligned monday morning 1st thing.

Once again, pics when completed.

Wish me luck!!
Stu

Thanks pzver, my Jaw dropped when I saw the amount of rear wheel travel the KJ is capable of with stock lower arms. Even with my 660mm extended shocks, the coils are no where near coming out. I'm sure I could even go around 680mm, but the compression measurement of shocks around that figure are way to much. I was lucky to find something 660 & 395.
Rear locker goes in Mon 10th July at PAYRB Southside.

ADDING COMMENT 5-6-06 *rear coils are lose, but never coming out , note regarding 680mm extended? NEVER do that, they'l fall out for sure!! )

OK, thanks to Wilmo, I have installed my front Strut Top Plates. It took the best part of today as I had to do it myself, on a sloping driveway, in the cold, poor me........:P!
I didnt get a chance to complete the rear, but i did take off the shocks in preparation for tomorrows install of the alloy bump stops, coil spacers & SUPER LONG TRAVEL SHOCKS!!

I was blown away with the extra length of the new shocks when layed side by side with the existing OME shocks !! 585mm VS 660mm !!!

The KJ now stands at 748mm front & 752mm rear, both sides equal to be exact! I was a bit shocked as the front sat at 730 passenger side & 735 drivers side before, so it shows for a little settle (& error). The KJ basically sits level now, but has some optical illusion that makes the rear seem maybe just a bees' dick down ? I'd rather put in a 6mm rear packer but they dont exist for the KJ (or TJ). I'll put the 10mm ones in tomorrow anyway & see how they go.

Here's a few teser pics from this afternoon. I didnt get a level side on shot as theres no level ground areas in my immediate streets, but these pics were just for measuring stuff enderneath.

With the rear, that measurement as the car sits is 630mm extended, and 400mm compressed on the tuck side. I've had the car at 660mm ext & 385mm comp before & it looks insane, you'd almost think it had a long arm rear, no shit its that good (hence why i'm doing it !!). Tomorrow i'll have the full blown shots up, so stay tuned!!
