No mate, the recall is in relation to some guy from Star Trek running himself over cause he didn't put the Jeep in park...left her running and hopped out for a spacewalk.

No - the recall was issued in April. Anton beamed himself up in June (because of him: a: stopping the GC on a steep incline b: not placing the transmission in Park but left it in Neutral c: not engaging the Park brake d: exiting the vehicle anyway with the vehicle in neutral, the Park Brake not engaged and ignoring the EVIC display. e: ignoring the additional bells and whistles when he exited that told him the vehicle was not in Park to wander down and close his gate.

The recall was initiated well before his death. He, in all likelihood had received the initial recall information. Why you would leave your vehicle (any vehicle) in neutral on a steep incline and get out and behind it, is beyond my comprehension.

I think the South Australian police could use the auto park feature after last night's incident. FCA could sell this to them.

Silverfox
As Mudguard says, there have been some lubrication failures, the trans changes are supposedly to take load off the motor in high gear, so it will change down quicker to prevent load back through the drivetrain. Seems to have been more common when towing heavy trailers.

Still holding off on this recall.....seems to have as many issues as it claims to solve and FCA's track record is shit, and that's being generous.
