Cj6 steering parts???
G'day I need to replace the drag link on a 1974 cj6, it has the solid rod link which one tie rod end screws on & the other is part of the rod. The one available for the cj6 (crown part) is approx 24 inches long the one I've got is about 21 inches but I have a power steering box installed from a TJ Wrangler so maybe the draglink has also been changed. Where should I measure the rod from, I was thinking from the end of the thread to the centre of the stud for the length & what is the best way to identify what I have, could a steering specialist be able to tell by just looking at it without spending hours researching it. Any other ideas like can one be made easily? Thanks Darren

Thanks Mick I'll have to get someone to do pictures for me, I have tried marathon spares, hammonds, 3 mechanics who specialise in this, ebay parts, jeepkraft & peddars. Even peddars cant help unless I give a part number. Does your drag link have TRE (tie rod end) that screw on both ends or is one TRE part of the link & only one end screw on (as mine is). I looked at a cj8 & it has the TRE thread on both ends. Hoping someone might be able to suggest what draglink would suit a cj6/5 with a tj steering box, I replaced a cj6 steering box previously with a hq holden (not power) & from memory everything standard bolted back on. bolted back on
