Wrangler rims on wk2 2014 limited
Looking to buy a set of 17 wrangler rims to use for beach instead of my 20’s. Has anyone had any issues with doing this.

The Australian export version WK2 we get comes with 18 or 20 option wheels, not the 17 standard as in the US.
The reason I understand is that Au spec has the bigger front brake set fitted and 17 will not clear the calipers.
20's when deflated a bit for use on sand would have a longer footprint than a 17, unless you were trying to match the outside diameter with the tyre selection, in which case the aspect ratio would result in significantly less stable tyre, far more likely to be rolled off the rim.

I've seen a wk2 with 17 inch sahara rims, they had to use spacers to clear the brake, which I believe aren't road legal.

They are JK Rubicon wheels. Had them on my WH Grand.
Yes, you have to use spacers which are illegal in Oz.
Cheers, Craig

Thanks for that info that’s great, took the car on the beach 2 weeks ago with no prob, drove up the big sand dune at 20psi on blacksmiths no prob straight past other cars. I am not a silly driver as have 2 young kids In The car but a bit concerned about other comments on 20i I. Beach, I’ve had a 2004 grand and Klein cherokeee and the wk2 best by far so far on sand. I reckon I might stick with the 20s, until I have a problem ? Any thoughts ?

These are the only 17's I have seen fitted to a WK(2) They are Dick Cepek "Torque" wheels with a +6 offset.
