Hole in the pre-update Selec-Trac Transfer case

My finger highlights the breather tube outlet

I could find no sign of any hole or plug, that hole near the selector linkage in pic 3 was a blind no-threaded hole, but had an alloy floor

I added more fish oil to the splines and will put the TX case in a more under cover position

It was also made 95 2.

I will get under the car tomorrow to see what has been plugged because nothing is noticeable from the rear of the unit. Car appears to be running ok with the makeshift welch plug.

If it was the breather outlet pipe snapping off, this would have been apparent to the mechanics who poured over countless diagrams of this thing. Apparently, in my unit, there was an additional hole that could not be explained by any of the diagrams and it wasn't the hole at the selector linkage which some other forums suggest was plugged by a rubber stopper - part no longer sold.
