Default Coolant options for 2.8 CRD 2007-2012

My new radiator hoses have arrived and I'd like to flush and replace the coolant.

This will be the first coolant change I have done. I'm unsure what coolant previous owners have used but it is an orange/red coloured coolant. Currently I have no overheating issues and temp gauge never even reaches half way, I'd like to keep it like that.

So what I'd like to know is what are my best options for coolant brands and types? I understand that pre 2013 models (mine is 07) require a HOAT coolant.

I've always been happy with Nulon products, would a Nikon HOAT be a good choice?

Any help much appreciated. I did search but most threads seem to be a few years old and I know brands come out with new oils and coolants over the years so thought I'd check what's currently good.

Nulon is a good brand, Penrite even better imo. I wouldn't mix it any stronger than 50/50 unless you live in Alaska. Always use distilled water too.

give it a really good flush, maybe even get a radiator place to do it. I use the Nulon, seems ok, 200k old water pump still looked like new when I replaced it.
Google 4wd Supacentre and grab one of their $80 EDS scanners and watch your coolant temp on that.. you would be surprised how much it varies while your dash gauge stays where it is..eg. 70c to 110c..

Thanks for the replies.

I looked in all local shops for Zerex G05 but no one stocked it.

I ended up going for the Penrite HOAT, after flushing the block and radiator with tap water I used 6L of concentrate then topped up with distilled water. I know some tap water would have remained in the system but oh well.

Also replaced the upper and lower radiator hoses. Not sure if its just me, but those spring loaded hose clamps that were originally fitted were a serious PITA to remove, they were just facing in such awkward positions, especially the lower radiator one. I decided to not use the new clamps which come attached to the new mopar hoses and instead fit standard screw type hose clamps. At least that way if I have a hose failure away from home I can remove them and refit relatively easy.
