Default WH front uni failure

I am currently 120km outside Cobar (Wilcannia side) with a failed front drive shaft (prop shaft) CV. Is there a Ford dealer or good mechanic in Cobar?

Hopefully they will have a cv.
Already limped 50 km in low range with caravan in tow.
Now waiting on a flat bed, I don't want to risk damage to the transfer case.

Could you not just remove the front shaft off the TC and front diff?

Being a full time 4wd once you remove the front tail shaft you loose ALL drive.

Just got in to Cobar just in time to order an overnight delivery of a Hardie Spicer CV-860 so here's hoping it arrives tomorrow & an 860 is the right one.

My front driveshaft is making a rattling sound when accelerating and getting worse.

Rear CV joint gone about 5 mm of play, ordered new one from USA $A90 and is approx. 2 weeks away.

Should we risk driving it approx. 700klms over the next 2 weeks no towing.

(seems to be a consumable part every 90,000 2nd one now)
