New battery today. Optima Yellow Top D27F
My Braille battery only lasted 3 1/2 years but even though it had a 5 year warranty (no longer offered) it turns out it is pro rata after 12 months. So $400÷5 = $80 a year. $120 off a new battery BUT the new battery is now over $500 & the Optima was only $350

I am concerned that I actually killed the Braille by over charging with my old school charger. Found it was putting out 16 volts & I now know max voltage of 15 volts for AGM. Purchased a CTEK MXS10 as well & tossed the old charger under the house.

I had to get a new battery as well. I ended up getting an Acdelco 913CCA unit.

Also changed the engine oil and filter. Reached 150,000klms. Checked the diff oils and ordered a new fuel filter.

Default JK Fuel Door

Purchased a JK fuel door of eBay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1Pc-Stain...sAAOSw3ydVgTae

Didn't want chrome so set about making it fit the WH.

First was removal of the stock door & cutting a square out between the original mounting points so the hinge on the new door will fit.

Next was trimming the back housing so it would sit flush on the body work.

Now I wanted to be able to reverse the install if I changed my mind so I used black gasket silastic & stuck the backing plate to the body.

Gave it a few hours & put the cover on.

With the mod for the hinge being only minor returning to stock will be simple & unless it was pointed out I doubt anyone would notice.

I like the look of this fuel door but $200 delivered! I don't think so.

Great job on the fuel door mate. Automotive double sided tape would work great too.

Love the fuel flap Clarky, after seeing the result, I am tempted to do the same thing.

Does anyone have a link to the "Redliner idea" Tango mentioned above?
