Default Looking to rebuild my XJ

Hey all,

So to start off i have a 2001 XJ last model year with the Automatic. I bought her back in 2013 and drove her for about two years until i parked it. Its sat most of the time in the same spot, i have been running it and moving around for the best part of three years. It has around 190,000ks.

SO basically i am wanting to rebuild most of the components to get it back on the road, this includes shocks, probably all the steering components and the motor which i still need to test for a head gasket leak but i am pretty sure it has one as i bought the car off a fool who ran it hot.

So my main question here is where is the best place to source parts, motors etc in Australia. Now my family has been in the mechanical industry for years so i know all the usual places but i am just wondering what you guys recommend. Also does anyone know a place i could source a drivers seat from in Tan Leather as mine is pretty much broken.

Thanks in advance

Is it a diesel or petto?

What state are you in? All the vendors we have on the forum are all reputable.

Default rebuild

Being a 2001 model there is a chance that the head could be cracked, see here for info
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/00-...erview-118922/

The bottom end should be fine with 190K on it.

http://www.4x4point.com.au/cart/ are pretty good for parts.

Some stuff I get out of usa and I've started using Amazon to get some stuff out of the US especially with amazon shipping being cheap.
