Default 3ltr Diesel Tapping Noise

Hello i have the 3ltr diesel engine, it has developed a tapping noise. I have recently changed the oil but, i think the tapping noise was there before the oil change. i Have changed the oil many times before.
The tapping noise is not all the time it comes and goes. When starting the jeep its all quite. Often does it when warmed up.
i thought the noise is coming from the top end sounds like a hydraulic/ tappet lifter noise. The noise sounds close to rocker covers.

Do they have Hydraulic lifters? The engine has only done 125k whats not a lot.
what could it be.

Tapping can come from the timing chain tensioner.
A little AW10 from CEM can quiet things down a bit.

I have an injector tick but that's constant that's why I think timing chain tensioner.

The rest of the engine sounds sweet when you rev hard it it all sounds good.
I though these engines bullet proof as a friend of my had a commander with just under 500k on it.

Leaking injector seal will be accompanied by a exhaust/diesel smell in the cabin.

i used to have a tick similar to what your describing i used the oil flush and a bit of the AW10 as Clarky suggested from Cost Effective Maintenance i also use their CRD fuel enhancer. and now dont have any issues. they are not really cheap but all their stuff seems to work treat. i use all these on a regular basis now for my other car aswell.
