Recall is for ignition barrel not the switch.

Swirl motor by the sounds of it. To be sure unplug it (swirl motor that is, located just in front of the turbo under the intake pipe) and fit a 4.7kΩ (2700 ohm) resistor across the 2 centre pins of the plug. This is known as the swirl bypass and it will run forever with this in place saving you $3k.

Thumbs up VNT Turbo actuator

A bit of info I found today about Garrett (Hella) Turbo Actuators

Sprinter and late model OM642 engines had different turbo actuators and fitting the wrong one will result in the throttle body lightning bolt symbol coming on and limp mode (commonly associated with a swirl motor failure)

Our Grands and Commanders use the G88 version.

This can be found on the alloy body of the actuator like this (example only, could be anywhere on the actuator)

A link to a US supplier https://blaast-turbo-factory.myshopi...nt=33296760783

NOTE!
Now Garrett Don't recommend you replace just the actuator (see below) But many have without a problem.

During my last service i noticed that the rubber seal in the oil cap was worn where it seals, so i pulled it out and the other side was softer.
I simply reinstalled it the other way and i have now done 5,000 k's and it has stoped leaking.

There is a little bit of oil to be seen not 100% if it was there but if that has leaked it's still a hell of a lot better.
