The Ford Windsor V8 Bellhousing bolt pattern is the same as the falcon 6. So this bellhousing adaptor will work http://www.novak-adapt.com/catalog/a...kit_fmax15.htm

The Pre AU engines only need the Memcal to remove the BCM lock and it will all be sweet.

The BA onwards, is a good engine, dad recently converted on into his Pootrol for economy reasons and the fact it had stuffed the second motor in it. His biggest issue was integrating the 2 wiring systems, but once he sorted that out, he was all good.

He had to get a bellhousing made for him for that conversion. But he was able to buy everything out of the engine bay of a BA for $1000. One thing to remmeber is the height of the coolant header tank. It is pretty important as it caused air pockets to form in the first motor in it, so when he replaced the BA motor with an FG motor (Just swapped all the sensors and everything over as they are exactly the same internally) he mounted the standard header tank. It goes like a demon compared to the standard 4.2.

To get around the reversing sump issue, you need to get hold of an FG XR6 or a ford territory sump and oil pump pickup as it has the same bolt patern as all falcon sumps from EF and bolts straight up. Simple.

Dad just went on a 8000km trip to the big red with it, not a problem. and it ran better than all the other cars there, it is the only car there that could accelerate to 140kph with a caravan on the back to overtake a road train. and it was the oldest vehicle on the trip.

Oh, and i am waiting till i have a parts car so i can start working on the conversion without taking my XJ off the road as it is my DD and i cant afford to have it off the road for months at a time...

I do happen to have an EF XR6 motor laying around that i paid nothing for, though i would prefer to do the BA engine...

Default RE ford 6 into xj jeep

Hi to all the xj fans out there
I have also liked the idea of fitting a ford 6 engine into a xj cherokee as well ..
i have found out some prices for the conversion to the auto tran's

Dellow conversions will make up a new bellhousing to sit between the aw4 auto and ford 6 cyl block

price is $1000.00 this will include engine mounts and brackets to sit the ford 6 engine into the jeep engine bay
more info please speak to "Jeff " at Dellow conversions

the converter shop in brisbane will modify the converter from between $250.00
to $500.00 ...the price is a variable because it will depend on the condition of the converter after separation
more info please speak to "Jeff "...YES the same Name different Guy
from the Converter shop in Brisbane

as mentioned in other posts .. the rest will be marriage of electronics etc:
cheers to all
