my soft hoses run quite close to the steering box as well, what with the extra cooler and all. It was going to rub, so i sleeved the trans fluid hoses with some of that that clear vinyl water hose, found some with a ID about 5-6mm greater than the OD of the trans fluid hose, that way goes on easy but not to much slop, easy enough to secure with a cable tie as well.

Good luck with it.

Plan on doing this replacement as well since my transline is leaking from the alu cap. Fabbed a quick disconnect 'tool' from a sharpy cap. Cut the tip off so its about 3 cm long. Cut a small strip outalong the side so you can slide it over the transline and push it into the disconnect fitting , as far as it goes. Is exactly the right diameter, works a treat.

Pretty common prob that one. Pretty easy to do on an Update not sure if yours is? All I had to do was remove the air box and place a floor jack under the engine, and out she popped. I have read on here the aircon comp has to be unbolted but I did mine in about 20mins without doing that.

I did mine 3-4 years ago and already its starting to crack. At least its still in one piece ATM. Reckon another 1-2 years and I will might be getting close to replacing it a second time.

Regards A
