They can't stop you providing your own oil, but what actually ends up in your Jeep vs. in the mechanic's garage at home is another story!

Just showing my cynicism.. If you can afford to sit around waiting and your dealer/mechanic is happy to have you looking over their shoulder, then good for you..

10W 30, supposed to be 5W 30 hmmm, that would concern me. I know some use heavier oil in toyotas to solve problems. A good thing you have kept the invoice

For those who are interested I found the details on the differences between MB229.51 and MS11106 standards:

MS-11106 compared to MB 229.51:
sulfur content limit. <0.2% vs 0.3%
Sulphated ash content <0.8% vs 0.8%
Phosphorous content <0.08% vs 0.09%
Chlorine content limit. <0.005% vs 0.015%
Pour Point requirement. -36C vs (I couldn't find the spec for this in the MB229.51 standard)
MS-11106 has stricter limits on Foam Tendencies tests (I couldn't find the spec for this in the MB229.51 standard)
MS-11106 has an additional ASTM D6335 test for High Temp Deposits 30mg max
MS-11106 has an additional ASTM D7097 test for Medium High Temperature Deposits(TEOST) 25mg max

Shell Helix ECT HX7 meets the Chrysler MS 11106, they also make HX5 etc which does not meet 11106, so has to be HX7 $42.95 for 5 litres at supercheep
Cheers
