Default Has anyone changed the KK rear bumper?

Hey all,

I am thinking about getting a steel rear bumper with a swing bar, but I am not sure about how to detach and reattach the reversing sensors. Has anyone removed the bumper or sensors before? I'd like to know how they are attached.

Cheers.

No I haven't but I'd like to do the same regarding a tyre carrier, etc. Had my eye on the ATH rear bar for nearly 4 years now.

Google found this:

NOTE: Only remove the rear portion of the right and left rear wheel opening flare moldings, do not remove the door flare moldings.

1. Remove the right and left side rear wheel opening flare moldings, (Refer to 23 - BODY/EXTERIOR/WHEEL OPENING FLARE MOLDING - REMOVAL).
2. Remove the six rivets (2) form the rear fascia (4).
3. Remove the four screws (3) from the rear fascia (4).
4. Separate the rear fascia (4) from the rear absorber (1) and remove the fascia from the vehicle.

And detailed instructions on LOST:

Yep that is what I am looking at too. Here is the latest. Unfortunately it's another $650 US to get it to Australia and they have not been tested with revering sensors yet. I guess it's just holes right?

At that cost, I would probably check if a local fabricator could do it first.

I'll be doing a work trip to CA within a few months so I'm considering if it's worth bringing back as oversized luggage? [emoji6] Alternatively we could order and ship together to try reducing costs. I agree that the sensors shouldn't be an issue other than removal from the factory bumper.

It's a good idea but I am in WA so the savings on shipping from the US to the east, are lost because I have to have it shipped again from there to WA shipping direct would be cheaper unfortunately.

There's a train to WA that passes near my place every Wednesday, I'll pop it on that! [emoji38]
