Default Replacement key

I have recently bought a JK that only has one key and would like to buy a spare, have been quoted $750 for a coded key but not including cutting. Is there an aftermarket supplier of keys and can they be coded with a non jeep specific tool like a G scan?

Interested.

I too bought my Wrangler used with only one key, had the intention of getting a second but now over a year has passed and I still haven't done anything.

Call another dealer, I'm sure they are less than $750 even from most dealers.

Just for info
Got both original keys but wanted a third just in case
Purchased one specific to the Jeeps VIN No from the dealers couple of years back thinking I could programme up myself according to manual.
Of coarse found out later doesn't apply to export models in UK
Key cost £65 ($107 Au dollars) and the dealers programmed it last year for me for free

Avoid dealers like the plague! Any large locksmith can supply and programme keys.

Jeep Rock Key 22USD, but when I checked, the shipping was a killer. Roughly tripled the price from memory.

Go to a good locksmith, they can supply and code a key. I had a spare made for mine....doesn't "remote', but who cares for a spare, it unlocks the doors manually and starts the car....old school.
Didn't cost a fortune, either.
