Try to drain the vent tube/hose from underneath. It has a special clip joint for that. There might be some fuel blocking the air coming out from the tank. If it doesn't help, the rollover valve in the fuel tank might be stuck and needs to be cleaned/blown through/replaced. I'm not sure if the vent filter (bolted to the filer neck assy) could be cloged up or not. All it does is to separate fuel from air, fuel going back into the tank via return metal pipe & air out. Basically, you have to figure out where the air coming out from the tank, is being blocked when the fuel is going in.

Thanks mate - but with no hoist it gets fairly cramped under there!
I thought I'd add that I live in the bush and my only servo "upgraded" their pumps, prior to this everything worked fine since the TSB mod. I don't do many k's in the JK, 52000 since 2007, so I'm rationalising that inactivity + new faster pump dislodged a gunk build up and blocked a filter. So maybe the filter was doing its job properly.

Now I've read every post in this thread!
and am getting ready to see what my dealer has to offer, I've got a few questions.
I had the TSB as soon as it became available and the car was within the warranty period at the time, should that mean that it is still a warranty item?
I'm a little confused about TSB and Stevil fix, am I right in saying TSB did not enlarge fuel pipe but modified filters and breather and the Stevil did use a bigger pipe but didn't do anything about filters and breather etc
Has anyone done the Stevil fix after having the TSB done, is there any point in doing this? if so why?
Has anyone dreamed up a way of modifying the breather pipe by including something like an air-line moisture trap (with transparent bulb so you can see if you've got a problem and just release it from the bottom of the bulb without having to undo the clip) or even a fuel filter (minus the filter) from something like a ride-on lawn mower, or as simple as a "T" section with a tap on it?
Has anyone replaced the original clip with anything easier and quicker, possibly compressed air line stuff?
Which is the best way of attempting to get the sticky roll-over valve to open without getting under the vehicle? I do have a compressor in my workshop.
Thanks in advance - Clive

mate heaps of people have done the stevil fix after the tsb didn't work. it's the best way. you cannot free the rollover valve without getting under the vehicle. mate steve's fix is the quick, easy and cheap way out of it. it works , is cheap, and saves you all the stuffing about with a company and dealer ssip network that really had no interest in fixing it. you have no idea how much effort it took for all us early members to even get chrysler to even admit there was a problem, let alone do something about it. the real solution is to replace the fuel tank with a quality rollover valve and use a larger filler hose and neck. but that would be an expensive solution and not one chrysler would even consider. they'd rather leave you with the problem and let you sort it out for yourself. way back the president of the w.a. jeep club told me chrysler had a history of bringing out new models full of faults and leaving the buyer to sort it out themselves, although later models may have the roblems rectified. it appears it is indeed that way. now as time goes on more and more faults caused by shoddy work, cheap parts and sub-standard workmanship are emerging. you just have to live with it and fix them as you go.

davidd, since buying my JK I think the whole dealership staff has changed and this is first time I've got a hint that I'm being given the run around. Painfully slow, never rings back and there's always a problem.
So it's Stevil, here we go! and maybe while I'm thinking about it, try a few ideas out on the breather hose.

great mate. if you come up with anything please post it for the rest of us. it's what has made this website so awesome over the years. the amount of diversified accumulated knowledge of the members here is far greater than anything the chysler company and it's dealerships can produce. there are blokes with specialised knowledge in many fields and others who just have a bit of common sense and the disire to have a go at things. has soved untold numbers of problems.
