Does anyone know the internal diameter size of the breather hose?

Default unlimited?

Does Stevil's fix work for a unlimited? Ihad a look under the car today and it seems pretty complicated to change the tubing.

How old is your JK? I've got a 2011 CRD and have never had a problem filling up.

Default My solution to slow fuel filling

The problem I had, and what I think is very common

The vent valve on top of the tank is jammed shut and air has simply has no where to go when fueling up causing pressure to build up and diesel to back up the filler neck tripping off the pump nozzle.

This valve is molded into the plastic tank and completely unserviceable

Solution

I have just installed a Brown Davis (BD) long range tank in parallel with the factory tank which

Method

I had to weld in another breather made up of

3/4 to 1/2 reducing bush welded in the tank
1/2" brass elbow
1/2 Tee into the existing 1/2" vent line that runs to the vent can behind the left hand tail light

as per my photos , Brown Davis probably could do this for you if you asked

Filler neck is unchanged

Had fitted Tsb kit with no change

Have moved the hose above the hand brake cables

Problems

The Brown Davis tank went in with out to much drama although it did not quite line up the factory points.
The diff gets with 5 mm of the tank at full movement which is a bit of worry
It would have been nice to install the vent point a bit higher but space is tight.
The transfer pump needed a relay fitted to stop the level gauge freaking out while transfer diesel across to the main tank.

Transferring from the Brown Davis to the factory tanks take about 30+ minutes not really a problem.

Points of difference from the ARB Long ranges VS Brown Davis

The Arb Long ranger tank is apparently comes with a heat shield for the exhaust pipe as the fuel tank ise pretty close.

ARB tank comes with and new filler neck and some blow back tubing

I have the same problem as most others here.

I've found a couple of local servos where I can stick the nozzle in and it will just fill normally with trigger fully squeezed, and a couple of others where it is a huge PITA to try and fill. So of course I just stick to the ones which work.

For me, the Caltex Woolworths pumps seem fine, but 711 and Coles keep cutting out.

The bad ones that constantly click off, don't stick the nozzle all the way in have it where you can see the fuel running in.
