Default Gobi Stealth rack - wind noise

Just thought I'd share my new Gobi racks I installed on my JK this weekend. After the terrible customer experience with DBOR the fitting process went pretty well for an amateur..

I have the wind deflector but am still getting a bit of wind noise around 80-100kmh onwards. Does everyone else get this noise at this speed? It isn't really too bad but might get annoying on a couple of hours of trip..

Next step: take it out for a trip.

I can't say I'm surprised about wind noise..... been the case for roof racks and baskets for as long as i can remember and you see tons of "whistling" lightbar comments.

Perhaps try slightly different deflector angles ( assuming its possible ) or take the deflector off and see what's what without it.

Good luck with it.... you may just have to accept that all that tubing on the roof of an already un aerodynamic vehicle is going to be noisy.

Can I ask about your bad customer experience?
I'd try running without the wind deflector. Also, a set of head liners will mute some of the noise.

I've positioned my wind deflector as close as possible to the windscreen, without actually touching, and made sure it has the curve pulled in it when mounted (as per instructions). I can hear my rack, but it has never been annoying.

Not sure about why you say you have bad customer experience. But if it's related to the wind noise, which can't really be eliminated with roof racks, it might not be a fair comment.
With a roof rack of this style, don't expect to have zero wind noise for a start. You can minimize it by changing deflector angle, position it closer to roof, etc.. Unless the gap between deflector/rack and roof is gone, you'll have that noise.
