Sounds like Kaos may have not designed em too well, in that they need a really tight clamp or even 2 clamps. I also believe that alloy pipes don't get as hot and probably grip the silicon tube better. CRD who made mine do so many GTR's, EVO's and WRX's its not funny, these pipe are made to handle atleast triple the pressure generated by the JK diesel.

I will chase up CRD tmw to see if they have some final pricing

With the new pipes all I have to do is push things together again. Couldn't do that with oem's. Bit like any other mod, each to their own.

Kaos are still refining their design. Mine were the first pipes they made inhouse, previously they contracted the fabrication out. Am still more confident than with the oem's.

I have found the pipes a few earthmovers have the same problem. Usually at the turbo as well.

think you're probably right steve. alloy is a lot lighter than stainless too and is able to get rid of heat much more quickly as it is a better conductor of heat. in racing applications it would be preferable even though the difference in heat transfer is tiny in practice. maybe on the open road with air flow over it there may be enough heat transfer to help the intercooler. i'll wait for your system .

Re the blowing off is there not raised rib 1cm or so from the alloy pipe ends to stop them blowing off?

I have had my Kaos pipes on for about 15,000k's now and I haven't had any issues with the Joins blowing off.
