Default US Wranglers

I was just looking at how cheap wranglers were in the US and was wondering if anyone has bought one from there and converted it right hand drive. If so did you do it yourself or have t done?

I did price it up as a giggle a couple of years ago and just did it again.

A JKU Rubicon specced to the same level as the MY14 I have is $45,455usd.
That directly translates to $59,274AUD!

On top of that you have shipping, shipping insurance, ADR compliance and GST on all of it but fortunately no import duty as it's made in the US of A!

I'd take an educated guess at closer to $75k+ in Australian dollars.

And absolutely no warranty on anything as FCA didn't bring it in and sell it they won't touch it.

Yep... got to add compliance costs, and I'm sure that will be a fun exercise. AFAIK you can't just import a vehicle and automatically register it.
And on top of that the LHD only parts like Headlights, rear indicators, front bumper, rear number plate mount will be an issue and cost. Could be more.....

I was looking an older model that was $1,500 US. I think it was a '95 and thought maybe it would be a fun cheap project.

I don't even think it can be imported / complied at all from anywhere, I may be wrong but can't we still only comply vehicles on 'the list'?

Could have been. I was just wondering if it would be worth buying a shipping over and if anyone has done it in the past.
