Default WH CRD Strange Problem

Hi, I have a problem with my gearbox, I take off of a morning but 5/10 K's down the road I have no downshift & its stuck in 4th. Now when I slow down it stays in that gear. I have discovered that if I pull up & switch it off I can restart & take off again. I can use manual to take off & upshift but it stays in 4th. No kickback or manual at all. Anyone had this one, weird.

You need to get scan done. Sounds like limp mode to me.

It may be your shift control module, I had a similar issue of not changing gears and it was the shift control module.
When it happens, look at the gear selection display in the speedo, the only one with a box highlighted around it, should be D.
If the others are highlighted the shift control module, is shorting causing the shift computer to go into limp mode.
Check it out and if that is the problem, it is easily fixed by DIY, just remove the shift module lift the lid and clean the selector electrical tracks.
There is a you tube video on the fix, it is an easy job.
Hope that's it.
