Default JK CRD rough idle

Hi all,

ok today I have started experiencing a rough idle. It is idling at the same RPM as always but there is a vibration coming through the engine. It goes away when the revs are brought over 1000RPM and drives fine. No engine light or error codes either. It has me baffled! any ideas?

i had a simple one, it was more noise than vibration.

On the CRD Auto there is a plastic bracket that holds the cooling lines from the auto to the cooler and they run under the engine. The $2 bracket broke and the lines would shake like buggery at idle.

Cable tie installed and instant fix.

MAF is on the top of the air cleaner box and you will pick up the cleaner from from Dick Smiths for about $23.00 a can...it's used for cleaning computer parts..or anything electrical.....

he means contact cleaner and do not buy the Dick Smith branded one it is NOT friendly to plastics, it has some nasty chemicals in it.

go for the CRC branded Contact cleaner.

FYI my EGR valve was replaced and the vehicle runs and idles much smoother. The old one was faulty. Symptom was poor accelerator response (you might get used to that, i also experienced hesitation under 2000rpm) and a light popcorn sound under full boost and load (between 1700 and 1900rpm).
