And don't forget to email ACCC....... they took FCA to task over their "customer service" and FCA gave undertakings to remedy the situation. Frankly I don't believe leopards change their spots but adding another black mark to FCA's performance record does have an impact.

Its one of the few things that the average owner can do that cant be censored. deleted or ignored by FCA.

This is going to sound really silly but bare with me. Check that the oil filter is tight.

I had this once on a car I bought years ago. It was leaking heaps of oil, took it back to the dealer and their mechanic was suggesting a head replacement after not finding anything else. After a couple of visits and many anger management classes I had a good look myself. Tightened the filter and it never leaked oil again.

It is a 2013 model. I've heard of the oil filter issue but it didn't seem to leak from that place, and I thought it was an issue after MY14.

Thanks for the advice, I'll contact ACCC and see what they recommend, and also see what FCA can offer...

I just crawled under the jeep and the oil dripping is very clear, and I suspect it could be gearbox oil instead of engine oil.
Any way to differentiate the two? It doesn't smell like normal gearbox oil but I remember the jeep uses a special oil.

Get a peice of white paper and see what colour the oil is, what it smells like and if you get enough try and judge the thickness, gear box oil will be alot heavier if a manual or usually a different colour but generally a similar viscosity if its auto fluid i know its not your job but the'll keep fobbing you off as pulling gear boxes is expensive ( labour ) and it'll be costing the dealer money, don't relent until its fixed, you can't/ shouldn't have to afford to deal with this crap when the cars out of warranty

edit - maybe i should have read the whole thread lol, but if jeep use a special gear box oil it'll likely be a special colour where as engine oil will usually be a yellowy/orangy/blacky colour

also possible that it could be a faulty input shaft seal

at least you got a new rear main and provided it was installed correctly, can be eliminated from the equasion, oil leaks can be trial and error sometimes
