Most Jeeps were available as 2WD in the US. ZJ, XJ, WJ, WH, WK2 and I think the JK too

Oh and forgot KK. Both the KK and WK2 were sold here as 2WD as well.

The current Grand Cherokee is available in both 2wd and 4wd, the Territory was in both, the Tucson and numerous others are both, what I don't get is the crowd stateside that put lift kits and big tyres on a 2wd Xj, moronic!!

Well the US has been doing the whole SUV thing for decades longer than us and 2wd versions have always been part of thier model ranges Like Ford Bronco's and Chevy Blazers, all available as 2wd.

Many 2WD XJ's were also 2 door Right Hand Drive versions, known as Postie Vans. Very popular for mail delivery in the good old US of A.
