It is promising to hear that there are others that have the same or similar opinions. By now means am I bashing the FB groups, but as someone already said, they are just not the same as a good thread in which people know what they are talking about.
If you have actually worked on a Jeep then you dont seem to have the "can I fit 33s with no lift" questions.
As for FCA, Id never buy a "new" jeep, my warranty is a parts list and what ever tools iv got and what I can research online.
I some what think that Jeeping is just different than the usual wheeling, its knowing that you have that something in common with someone else, maybe its that they we are more willing to help each other out, im mean iv never hear of a patrol wave haha, but then again there is an Evo wave and i loved that too.
This morning, I went to buy a new XHD bumper, some soft 8s and a bolt on rear truss. This ended up with me walking away due to them telling me what basically the bolts are optional extra's. Back to SBR for me. I must admit that yes there are more business selling stuff but the knowledge base of the newer places seems to not be there.
Love jeeping, turning wrenches and wheeling. This is something I will be passing on to the next generation in my fam.

I browse a lot but don’t do many post. Even though we drive a WK2 and a TJ, my main interests are jeeps to 1984. Recently found Willys Australia FB site and it is very interesting as is the CJ3B website. Would love to find a site dealing with 1974 to 1984 jeeps in Australia

I prefer to get my information here. I was once on facebook years ago but soon got off it and will never go back.
I'm on here pretty much every day but have cut right back on the amount I post but will try to answer people's questions.
Unfortunately on here, there are a lot of questions that could be answered by doing a quick search and when a question isn't answered straight away people tend to get dirty about it.

I browse a lot & offer help where I can. Ask some questions occasionally.
Facebook, though? I had one of those, & deleted it because I quickly got sick of all the spam posts. That was probably 5-10 years ago. Never looked back.
If a group only wants to communicate via Zuckerberg's proprietry platform, where they can search & own everything you post, (at least that was what the T&Cs said when I still had an account), I don't need them that much.

For me, it's a "best tool for the job" thing - I use Facebook for social interaction with Jeep communities and clubs but this forum for technical info sharing, partly because a forum makes it easier to share and view pics and lots of text and partly because of the audience here seems to be more technically minded.
And also because I was booted from the one FB group where I did participate in technical discussions because a group admin was butthurt from me calling out their bad advice of fitting a new a steering stabiliser to help with death wobble.

A new restraunt opened not far from us. I went looking for their menu. Instead of a expensive web page they had a free Facebook page. Good on them!
My wife's soccer club has a free facebook page.
Apart from these things, Facebook is hopeless! Forums are terrific! Terrific for any topic in the whole world. Even non-Jeep topics.

Yeah the decline from AJOR at its peak is astonishing, and the number one culrpit is FB. The fact states are changing and cracking down on the rules for modifying also doesn't help, but when there are 100's of Jeep related micro groups on FB now in Australia, it's hard to compete.
AJOR's google ranking suffers also. Gone are the days we need to run the site on a dedicated server due to its traffic, AJOR now lives in USA on a cloud server as the load on the site just isn't there.
I am very thankful for the core group of members who keep the traffic moving along with great value added content.
