Default 2004 WG Grand Cherokee Laredo 2.7CRD Auto front drive shaft fron CV replacement

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I developed a noise along with a cv knocking front left. My mechanic replaced front left hub assembly and the left cv and shaft.

That sorted the problem instantly, but the fact that there was no noise, uncovered a much bigger problem. My front drive shaft's front CV is completely shot, sound like marracas when shaking it.

Local they want me to replace whole shaft, but back cv and shaft is 100%. I can find online a lot of cv replacement kits, but have been told that it differs to the petrol engines, is this true or can I go ahead and purchase a replacement cv kit as seen here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Drive-Sha...3b9&rmvSB=true

Any help would be appreciated as I am driving a 4x2 and cant go onto the beaches. In-laws are arriving on 3 February and would like it sorted before then so we can go beach driving etc, they are looking forward to that the most.

Cheers

The CV on the shaft are the same, its the length of the shaft that is different.
The cv you listed will fit.
BA falcon XR8 CV's are the same. Don't confuse it with the stock falcon one they are different spline counts. I suggest you count the number of splines on your shaft before you order a ford one, it should be 28 from memory.

Listed below are both Ford types,

Cheers Clarky,

Will order one then tonight. So you reckon it is better to buy a Falcon one? Sorry if a silly question, just not sure.
