Hi nickbarrenjoey
I contemplated getting sidesteps or running boards for my KK However I changed my mind after doing a bit of dirt track driving If I had them installed it would have reduced my clearance by more than 4 inches which would mean with side steps they would bottom out sooner and with running boards they would put undue pressure to the frame if I chose to plough through the track

Regards

Walter

I put side steps on as it made it easier in getting my kayak on the racks. Took them off when I realised the brackets would drag. Also have a nudge bar which requires removing front recovery point. Never got around to putting that on. I'll put them on to sell the Jeep one day but not before.

yeah side steps , good dirt diggers , and good at bending , rock sliders ? mine were attached by those blind rivets where they flare when a bolt is threaded into them , as the brackets were attached to the chassis , good idea BUT not good for tracks and so on . how about a three step ladder ? can chuck in the back , there light and don't really take to much room , might look dickie , but at least then wouldn't get the side steps stuck somewhere. and damage your ride right ?
