It's not that, it is simply that I want the best service history for a purchase. Better to get one where the owner just bent over and paid what Jeep told them to pay. After that I'll mostly do the work myself (I hope.)

Dealer servicing has been proven to include the potential of unsuitable engine oil.

Grrrrrrrreat. But realistically, buying used I can look for a full service history or not, out of those two options I have to go for the service history.

Yep, dealership servicing stamps = apprentice work experience record. Your experiences will vary wildly.

What does the Overland have that the Trailhawk doesn't, back in 2012 vintage?

I’d echo most of the other comments, if you look after the WK2 it will look after you.

Is the vehicle flawed? Yeah, sure, but there is nothing else like it. It can tow, perform off road and drives like a car, not a truck.

The 3.6 in particular is rick solid, never an issue after 105,000 from new.

The WK2’s Achilles heal is probably it’s electronics but so far every issue I’ve had was covered by either warranty or a recall. It’s been 5 years of relatively trouble free motoring.

I’d also agree that the issues with Jeep mainly relate to the dealers themselves, who in my experience are a complete and utter disgrace
