E.G. both the 5sp CRD and the 8sp CRD were built in 2013, so the MY is important when looking a 2013 build. Bit like buying next year's calendar this year, the next MY is usually released later in the previous year.
But in your example above, MY wouldn't really tell you which is which. Build year, which includes a specific date.....will.

Mine is a August 2013 build MY14. I do not think they ever changed the oil filter/pump housing from 2011 till current anyway. Next oil change I will check how the sealing of the filter o ring with filter pump housing is impacted by location on the filter.

Thank you, 67HR. This is a very clear illustration about the difference between new Mopar part and Ryco filter.

Btw, just wondering where can I purchase the Mopar one? From dealership or ebay or local part supplier? Cheers.

As I mentioned earlier, the WESFIL WCO201 is exactly the same as the new Mopar part and you can buy 4 or 5 of them for the price of 1 Mopar filter. The dealerships charge north of $80 at least and Ebay has them about $20 cheaper if you shop around. Some blokes were bringing in the Mopar filters from the US, but these days the shipping costs are crazy on most items so you save nothing.

Thanks Lin,
I paid $90 from dealer (live regional & only have 1 choice) Thanks to your heads up I got it changed before I head away tomorrow.
Next time I'll check the Wesfil, as per Troutman's info. I have one as an air filter.
Cheers Trev

Thank you for the information. I will purchase Wesfil WCO201 for the coming service.

I just noticed that the WCO163 is same with previous Mopar one, and WCO201 is same with the new Mopar one.

I have been using the wesfil 163 for a few services, not sure what damage it could do but have justed ordered the 201. Just about due for a service so will do it as soon as the filter turns up.
