Default Making Space

Have just purchased a new GC Trailhawk. Only real problem is the lack of space to install a second battery. I am thinking that the only real option is to remove the spare tyre and carry this on roof for extended touring and just rely on puncture repair plugs for local trips. I could also install my ARB compressor in this space.Frig slide would be mounted above this so no unpacking to get at spare if it was needed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I saw recently where a Cherokee owner had mounted their spare vertically in the back. It was held firmly with a ratchet strap to tie down points. He then used the spare wheel space for all his gear.
Maybe this is an option in the GC as well.

If your Jeep doesn’t have air suspension mount your battery & what ever you decide to control charge under your passenger seat & Arb compressor under your bonnet.

Unfortunately it has air suspension so I imagine that space is taken. But I hadn't thought of lashing the spare to rear seats.

I just use a battery box in the rear, this is smaller than putting the spare in the boot and the battery under the floor. I have 2 Anderson plugs to connect to dcdc changer and camper wiring to the battery box and I remove when not in use.

I've been looking for space too, I was thinking of a rear tyre carrier, then battery, compressor and water tank under the floor, then drawers and fridge on top.
