Bosch oil filters

Anyone using these as opposed to the standard Mopar filter

In my '08, I just use Ryco, usually. Either the standard size, or more usually, the extra long one.

I usually use Ryco myself, however I have put in a K&N one now.

You can't go wrong with any of the brand name oil filters like Bosch or Ryco.

Bosch filters these days are made in Korea. Started with the Sanyong copy of the Mercedes. Many Mercedes owners use Korean Bosch filters. Ryco & many others are now made in China. You can still get EU brands not made in China. Getting to the stage that probably even the Mopar ones will be out of China.

The thing is, there is made IN China and made BY China.

Most reputable companies that base their manufacturing in China have strict quality controls in place so their product is just as good as if it was made in the company's home country.

Brands like Ryco aren't going to have their reputation damaged by shoddy manufacturing.

Items made by China more often than not, don't have good QC and that's where the trouble starts.

Unfortunately Chinese companies don't have the same scruples as their overseas counterparts.

Where I work, we occasionally have issues with Chinese counterfeit bearings. They package them in SKF boxes so they look exactly like the real thing however will fail in service very quickly.

Yeah, I've seen the same thing with reproduction parts for classic cars and alloy wheels.....if the person ordering the parts is prepared to pay for the quality, the Chinese can produce high quality parts.......the problem is, they're also happy to work for people who don't care about quality.
