The head of the Cherokee Nation said the tribal government doesn't think slapping its name on the side of a vehicle is the best way to honor them. The tribe and the automaker will engage in a dialogue.

Yet they don't mind slapping their name on the side of a casino.

What's the bet if Jeep offer them royalties they'll learn to live with it.

My suggestion is to rename it the Jeep Mohican.

I’m pretty sure the last of the Mohican’s died out with Daniel Day Lewis.

CHEROKEE is a Creek word for "people of different speech”.
It's not even their real name, Keetoowah or Tsalagi is the preferred name of their people.

Jeep could rename the car from Cherokee to:

"The Car formerly known as (Grand) Cherokee".

The nameplate can be replaced with a symbol.

e.g. If the XJ was still on the production line today, the symbol could be a square.

Did you ever see him in "My Beautiful Laundrette"? I think this was by far his best performance.

Thankfully he didn't die off in this film or who knows what would have happened to the Mohicans! Also a great film.

The trouble with todays world, even in a situation where many, many, many millions are sick and many millions (not bits of, but millions) of people r dying of COVID 19,
there are those "keyboard warriors" and pseudo professional agitators (and in reality there are not that many of them) who think that their sudden woke-ness should be the prominent focus in world politics.
I am all for recognising the culture and claims of others, no matter whose, but these claims of the new woke brigade can show the ridiculous and intolerant side of human behaviour at times.
