Sorry for the delays I had to wait for hardware and then I just got distracted. I have since instaled my drawers and their locks. Last week I started the job of gluing down carpet. DAMN that stuff makes you high.... haha

While I was waiting for hardware I got bored and decided to start on my next plan for the TJ with a front stinger bar.
Here is the first few parts tack welded together.

That's a bloody good build, I don't know why you would even think of buying when you can do a custom job like that. I did something very similar with my build but with just a single draw at the back and the front section split in two.

Original I was going to run my second battery and air compressor in the front section but now it's split between food and recovery gear (no need to open the tailgate in the river to get to the snatch strap or winch remote). Wiring it up for the duel battery took a lot of the load off the starter and now only my winch, spotlights and light bar run off the starter battery. Everything else, fridge, camp lights, draw lights, UHF, phone charger and air compressor now runs of the Aux battery. That spare space in the wings (down the side of the draws) is a great place for water bladders (or in true student fashion wine casks filled with water).

The down side of the fridge on top is its also hard to get into the fridge when it's in the back with the hardtop on. With the split front and back sections you can't just take the easy option of a drop down fridge slide either.

As for the draw slides. I went with some heavy duty 125Kg ones but the other option would be mounting some bearings and your own metal slide (small box section).

how much did the materials cost?
hinges
rollers
handles
timber
carpet

i estimated about 300-400 when i was looking into making one.
the only thing i add is some eyelets and a secure place to mount them for tieing down a fridge or something.
