Rear bumper/tire carrier
Been wanting to do this for a while now, plan is steel rear bar/swing out tire carrier with two jerry cans hopefully between the tire and tailgate. I picked up a second hand ARB bullbar from an early Range Rover to mod. It allready had the top cut off so saved me a bit of work. I started by removing the mounts, RR must have a very narrow chassis as the mounting points and tapper of the wing's where nowhere near where they needed to be so decided to cut the bar in half and spread it by around 350-400mm while adding a step/cut out for the spare wheel. All mods will be from 3mm like the ARB bar and the mounting plates are 5mm. Had to cut the outer corners off as it was to wide now, I will reshape with 3mm to fill intowards the guard and around the body.

looking good bud. i like the idea of jerrys behind the tyre but i like the idea of single opening more which was what made me decide not to go that way as i couldnt' think of a way of getting the jerrys out with it tied to the door.
did you have a single action open in mind?
all up though a good shape bar to begin with

I would like the single open, but as you said it could be a problem with access to the jerry cans, also I think having a seperate catch is a lot easier for me to build.

Sound good, I also watched your vid and it looks good, but don't know if I will have room as I really want to try and fit the jerry can's between the tire and door, also go camping a lot and it would be good to be able to leave the tire carrier open and just use the rear door to open and close for fridge access.
