I got a bit more done today, also the 5mm plate I used to make the mounting brackets was a bit rusty so I thought I'd soak them in some white vinegar, thank's for the idea Marcus, they have only been in for half a day and I can see a difference already. My apprentice isn't much help, but she's good company.

That looks good mate. I wonder if having a few extra folds and bends in the centre tyre cutout will add overall strength to the bar and reduce twisting for next to no extra weight

I'm not sure, I read in your thread that your having problems, I'm hoping to have the pivot in the corner of the bumper and the bracket to help with this, it looks like yours is further out.

Thank's Dave, not as nice as some of the bars available, but I've always liked DIY and this fits the budget a lot better.
