Looks great Anthony, Rusty's work looks top notch. I definitely wouldn't attempt tiling as I'm a bit pedantic too, and would want a professional job.

Good stuff. Rusty must be a great bloke.
My wife is trying to convince me to move to tassie. She has fallen in love with Snug/ Margate/Kingston area. My concern is being able to get a reasonable paying job. I have been in my current job for 25 years. So it probably is time for a change. (Career)

Yeah, great job on the tiling, house and pizzas!! Had one of the best pizzas in Salamanca btw.

The wife and I are heading down there in a year or two, prolly near Hobart as I need to commute to Sydney for work.

Rustynuts left a few days ago and so did the whirlwind..... Been as massive clean up last night and today and still have more to clean up tomorrow, But that will keep the "Black Dog" at bay. Just now I have finished cleaning up the bathroom and completed the top drawer mod of my vanity. I wanted as much done as possible before I show off Rusty's workmanship. All I can say is he it shear brilliance.... His tiling skills are impeccable.... From the moment I saw the screed going down I could tell this is not something I could have done myself.... The screed is an art in itself... I reckon even my mum in her Blundstones couldn't have even achieved such a good screed, especially with sand Rusty had to work with. Must say I am wrapped with the finished product. Basically all I need to do now is get someone to hang the shower screen. I'm lovin it.... If all goes to plan I will have hot water by August and a septic by December... A massive thanks to Rusty who gave up paid work and paid his own travel costs to help a bloke out... Rusty is a top bloke and I can't wait to get him back down under for a leisure trip next time to show him some of the Tassie haunts. Here are the latest pics.

Default Rustys Tassie adventure.

I decided a while ago to visit AG.
We all know his battles and he is trying to get back on his feet. I bought some parts off him last year because I feel he really needed the money. Didn't really need them but they were not going to sell well down there. Last year AG was living in a small caravan on his property and trying to build a small and modest house. You need that in winter down there.
So plans were made for a trip. It was going to happen late last year but it was mutually postponed till this February. I booked the boat ride across and off I went. Took my old work ute loaded up with my tools with 325 000k's on the clock.
I set off early from Sydney. I was in Victoria for brunch and Melbourne for a late lunch. I made my way to the ship for boarding. The Bass Straight crossing was awesome. Of course I had a beer or two first and as I was travelling solo I decided to watch a movie in one of the boats small cinemas. "Star Wars The Force Awakens" was showing so all was good. We were heading into a three meter swell with the wind on our nose. The movie was excellent. As the Millennium Falcon was being maneuvered around the cinema moved with it. After, the gentle sway of the boat rocked me to sleep.
I arrived at a calm Devonport at sparrow fart and proceeded to Launceston to meet up with AG. All was good. Got some materials and we were on it. We took the shorter gravel road to his place. The corrugations shook all the bog out of my ute!
Wall tiles up first. Then, "where is that sand AG?" Well no sand was delivered but AG stated we should check out the old gold mine near the river first. Well the sand there looked good and there was tons of it. OK, we loaded up and off we went. We mixed it with cement and it felt weird. Well it wasn't sand.
To be continued...........
