Default 97 TJ syncromesh gearbox

Hi Guys, is there an additive I can put in gearbox to aid the shift from 1st to 2nd it appears to be too tight. I suspect syncro's wearing. a friend suggested putting in a bit of auto trans. oil is this true if so how much?
Thanks.

There was a bit of discussion recently about the correct fluid for XJ diesel trans ~ same trans. IIRC you cant use the latest & greatest oils as they destroy the yellow metal syncro rings. You can google yellow metal & find out more. There is even suggestion that engine oil is a better option.

Any suggestions for a good gearbox guy who has done theses boxes at a decent price in brisbane?

Manufacturer fill for the Ax gearboxes is now SYNTHETIC 5w-30 motor oil. What are normally considered the best oils are Redline MTL or MT90 GL4 gear oils. I use MTL myself. Those that I have read used motor oil and Redline have expressed the opinion that the Redline is better. Not sure if you can get it down there though.

Anyone happen to know where I can get Redline MT-90 in Brisbane??

Bursons, Motorsports Accessories, Performance Wholesale don't carry Redline products anymore and Coventry (the old Australian dealer) doesn't exist anymore, can't seem to find anyone else that might have it short of getting it shipped from over the border.

Lol already did, these guys are the best price in Australia that I could find, just have to wait a couple of days for it to show up unfortunately.

Magic seems to be the consensus hence why I wanted some
