Default Battery discharging overnight

Yes , in the 6 weeks since i bought my KK the battery has gone flat overnight 6 or 7 times now.

The Holden dealer where i bought the KK (used with 68000 ks on the clock) has replaced the battery with a new one but a couple of days later it too was flat ...6.2volts flat!

I drive the KK 50 kms a day. The battery has been tested as good and the alternator charges fine. nothing has been left on overnight, it is all very odd.
. The KK also has the" clock not keeping time " problem , maybe its related ?

The service history is very comprehensive , in fact one of the receipts from Jeep shows the previous owner complained of the same battery problem when it was still under warranty, but Jeep could not replicate it at that time.

Anyways the KK was unceremoniously dragged onto a flatbed today by my Holden dealer and is going back to Jeep Service ( 300 kms away from me) for them to sort out.

I miss the dam thing allready .

Wish me luck !

I read something on forums about this problem in KK. From memory something wasn't powering down when it turns off. Took them ages to find it through trial and error but since then it has helped others. Maybe do a search through LOST forum.

Thanks Vards, i have found that thread http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB...p?f=88&t=73719

not sure if its the culprit in mine tho as my heater floor vents worked fine.

The .8 amp draw he found on the M13 circuit, would that be enough to kill a battery overnight ?

Well it's easy to test if there is current flowing. Just do what the guy in the link did with a clamp-on multimeter when the car is off, and pull the fuse (try others if not that one).

Thanks Flashy , if i had to diagnose the problem myself i would certainly do that.
This dead battery problem was reported to jeep by the first owner when the kk was still under new car warranty . it was never resolved.
The KK is now 6 months out if warranty and is at the Jeep dealer for them to sortout .
Will see what they say. I might let them know about the lostjeeps thread and its 800ma drain on circuit M13 finding if they need a clue.

i am just not sure an 800ma drain would kill a fully charged battery overnight ?

Good News ! Jeep have identified the problem and as i suspected it is related to the clock losing time issue .
They have ordered the new modules , which are in stock in Melbourne and i should have my KK back sometime next week , no charge.

im stoked !
