OK, assuming you have an RB2 Mygig like mine (it is on the face plate in the bottom right), then this is how I did it. First of all the 2011 version can only be upgraded to version RB2 10.00.11 - I think later versions were able to go to later versions of the firmware (v33 and v50). I tried them but they seem to be for different hardware. To get the firmware you need to get a file called "RB2 10.00.11.iso" and use what ever software you have to burn it to cd.

The file is hard to find so I had to use the link in the post below:

http://www.ramforum.com/f51/res_rbz_...83/index3.html

The actual link is:

http://www.mydrive.ch/browse#/751831...0RBZ%20-%20RB2

The username is mygig@soxag and the password is gasolio.

This all looks very dodgy, I know, but I have already taken the risk and tried it and it works fine.

As the link says:
Burn it to a cdr as an ISO
2. Turn the key to ON (not ACC)
3. Turn the radio OFF
4. Press load and insert the CDR
5. Follow the onscreen instructions - Press yes to update to 10.00.11

There you go....

If i knew how to "like' a post i would this one.

No worries. It's only small (14mb). You get the ability to 'like' after you have been an active member for a certain period of time. I don't know what the period is but it was months before I had the Like button.

Hey guys,

Has anyone done the software update? What benefits did it provide?

How about updates maps and/or better navigation reliability? Does it do that?

My deck is an RHP with Application 2.126 on it.

I'm about to attempt it 8Track. I have RHP with 2.136. I just received a Lockpick Air as a present but I can't access the menu through AM/MW the way Flashy could with his RB2.

So I'm hopeful a software update will help. Otherwise I'll have a brand new lockpick Air for sale, and that will be a bummer....Otherwise I may try and source a RB2 from a scrap yard.
