2004 Jeep Wrangler Engine Removal

Hi All,

I am looking to remove my 4.0 engine and rebuild the motor. I have a few questions needing help.

1. Should I remove my grill? or can the engine be removed without touching grill?
2. I am in Brisbane are there any good engine groups that could also install larger valves and port head?

Don’t know about the grille on your car but my general experience on most modern vehicles is to nearly always remove the front clip as it improves access the connections and fasteners of a/c, rad, coolers, engine mounts etc. the time spent pulling the front clip is usually saved 10 fold in accessing difficult connections.

It is hard to find good auto machine shops nowadays as most have turned to truck work as most car engines are being treated as throw away. I would look at buying a new performance head from an Uncle Sam supplier, it maybe cheaper and easier.

Can even go so far as taking guards off also, not that hard to remove it all.
