First time I took mine out I used a 1/4" drive socket with a very strong socket. Had 2 extensions & a 1/4" to 1/2" adapter & a 1/2" breaker bar. The extensions flexed nearly 1//2 a turn before it came loose. Just nipped it up when doing back up.

how did you get he socket on the top bolt did you take of the engine mount?

Hi Muz, no did not remove the engine mount, the extensions, were the right length to get the air ratchet, between the starter motor and the engine mount, tight fit

You just poke it around where you think it should go until you feel it on the bolt head. ~ bit like your comment about the virgin! ~ once the head is in the socket dont let it fall out!

phaarqit its 1/2 a plug of gellee time ive lost 2 10mm sockets on top of the starter lucky i have free towing with the rac its going to a workshop at my age my time is is worth so much to do other things so in offset it wont cost too much
as i can be doing other thing that are productive
