This is with 265/70r17 on +30 (8"wide rim)

With 255/75r17 on the same rim, unlike the 265's there is no rubbing on the rear guard lip when flexing.

According to the wheel offset calculator, a 17x8" rim with a +30mm offset will stick out an additional 26mm over the standard 17x7.5" rim with +50.8mm offset:

So as per Clarky's photos, they should be pretty much perfectly in line with the guards.

On my Commander, 1.25" (32mm) wheel spacers put the standard wheels in line with the guards, which makes sense as Commanders came with 7mm less positive offset (i.e. 32-7 = 25mm).

I am about to fit 17x8" alloys with 0 offset, so I will end up with about 1" of wheel/tyre poke from the guard. Couldn't find any decent wheels with a 15-25mm positive offset that weren't hideously expensive, so I bought some secondhand wheels off a Wrangler owner.

Yep 20mm for the offset & 6.5mm for the rim,
but it also depends on backspacing.

Be interesting to see the final result
Driving round corners about to become interesting
Luckily there's not many corners up north
