Default Remote start

Just came across these guys and thought what a good idea, plus great reviews, so pushed the buy button https://carboncarsystems.com.au/shop...ote-start-kit/. I’m such a sucker for a bit of tech, but this will be great in summer to cool the cab down before climbing in (getting soft, I know).

You're going to love it.
It's been -2C the last few mornings and remote start means warm car and defrosted windows... Gold!

Great to hear, and after the winter we’ve just had here, I might be using it to warm it up too

Got the new unit the other day, but had to send it back to get a firmware update as it wouldn't program. Only a three day turn around, so can't complain.

Fitting it was an absolute pain. I could not remove the harness connector no matter how I tried! So I had no choice but to remove the lower cowling around the steering wheel, and with that bloody lip on it, it was damned near impossible, but after two hours and a trip to Bunnings to get some plastic putty knives, I managed to get it off without having to take the wheel off. Once I got it off, I still couldn't get the connector to release. I managed to shine a torch up onto it and noticed that the release lug had been cut off, which was why I couldn't get it to release. Once I could see what I was doing, I manged to get a flat screwdriver bit that spanned across what was left of the connector and then it released. Don't know why it was like this? Only thing I can think of is that they do it deliberately to stop anyone from easily hot wiring the car. Anyone got any thoughts?

Original plug with the centre of the release clip missing:

Plug that comes with new harness:
