Default Modified OME lift?

Hey guys.

Wouldnt mind getting a bit more lift out of my WH. im currently running the OME HD kit and ive been reading a lot of US stuff about adding half inch spacers on top of the coil and strut to gain another half to whole inch.

Are any of you guys doing this with success? By success i mean not breaking cvs and rear axles being out of line?

Thanks guys.

If you keep realistic expectations of what they can and don't do - and how they can hurt you if you go too far - they are a fine little budget boost in my opinion. Due diligence with your bump stops, of course. Just know you've added a potential weak link in your suspension, and keep an eye on it.

Have you measured your front hub to fender in inches?

My reading from the guys in the US suggests up to 23 inches is as high as you would like to go before you run into driveshaft, steering and CV issues. I also run the OME hd and I was sitting around the 22 inch mark when installed.

The strut top plates should give you an extra half inch..maybe measure yours and see what you've got left to work with

Cheers slippery I have read a bit about the "23 inch" limit. mine measure pretty much bang on 21 front and rear with ome hd.
Just wanted to see if anyone had done it and had any issues. The CVs will be at a bigger angle so you run the risk i was more concerned around the need for an after market track bar as ive read mixed stuff on the US forums.

my brother runs them in his WH and sits a fair bit higher than my OME HD. No issues in the front end/steering play yet...

it sits on the 23 inch limit

Cheers slippery!
Yeah mines sitting at 21 inches atm. I think the springs have settled a bit. I might try find the parts to do it myself.
And answering your question off the other thread yeah that was mine for sale haha! I had a moment where i wanted a performance car again because i borrowed my old mans SS for the week. But when you look at what you can by for what the jeep is worth its hard to let go of the jeep! So much car for its money! Did your mate end up getting one? Ive seen a few turbo diesel ones going around quite cheap.
Where abouts are you guys in Perth?
